San Somewhere area Rancho delivery

cid:CID0001

It was a wonderful group of folks that gathered yesterday at The Scorpion Bay Club to head out to the local ranchos to deliver supplies

cid:CID0002

Boozie had stayed up the previous evening to organize the donations....this was a huge job to separate the items for the individual ranchos....

cid:CID0003

...but once done, it was an easy way to transport the supplies. We are in need of "things on the ground" here. Two weeks from now, it will all be back to normal. These bags are a good example of, "Things on the Ground Here" that is needed.

Believe it or not the little things are the most needed:  toothpaste, tooth brushes, soap, towels, flashlights, candles, matches, etc. You have no idea how a simple things like toilet paper and female products are a welcomed sight in the remote areas

cid:CID0005

And they were off!

cid:CID0006

First stop: Cadeje

cid:CID0007

There was a little fun involved with the adventure!

cid:CID0008

Notes to family members were appreciated as well as the supplies!

cid:CID0009

It ended up being a hot day

cid:CID0010

Jose was really happy to get some fresh water. Jose is a Rancher and helped us build our place in San Somewhere seven years ago

cid:CID0011

Hey...even Paul came along! This was an eye opening adventure for him...he was so tired when he got back in the evening.

cid:CID0012

Cool down break!

cid:CID0013

It was nice to get in the shade

cid:CID0014

They were all happy to see the guys for sure

cid:CID0015

...oops.

cid:CID0016

Good thing it was in a plastic bag!

cid:CID0017

cid:CID0018

cid:CID0019

Collected fence posts are a big deal...they were everywhere.

cid:CID0020

The supplies were very much appreciated. These folks are pretty hardy people and use to the hard living conditions of the area....

cid:CID0021

...but as they told the guys who came and delivered all the supplies; they really do appreciate the items. More than that, they appreciated the fact that they came and that someone cared about them, their families and just the effort that so many folks showed up. "Help" was as much a gift, as the gift themselves.

So life goes on here and in San Somewhere you would never know the town was part of the worst storm to come though Baja that anyone can recall

cid:CID0023

The Weather Station is fully functional...a little worn, but working. Who needs 'FOX News Weather Reports" when you can just drive by for current conditions?

Life goes on here again.

Yep, Antonio Camacho came by last night for a beer and a quick shot of tequila..and as he has always said, "just part of the show".

You are so right, mi amigo!

cid:CID0024

So the show does continue and the greening of the whole area is taking place as you read this.
