San Somewhere
area Rancho delivery
It
was a wonderful group of folks that gathered
yesterday at The Scorpion Bay Club to head
out to the local ranchos to deliver supplies
Boozie
had stayed up the previous evening to organize the
donations....this was a huge job to separate the
items for the individual ranchos....
...but
once done, it was an easy way to transport the
supplies. We are in need of "things on the
ground" here. Two weeks from now, it will all
be back to normal. These bags are a good example
of, "Things on the Ground Here" that is
needed.
Believe
it or not the little things are the most needed:
toothpaste, tooth brushes, soap, towels,
flashlights, candles, matches, etc. You have no
idea how a simple things like toilet paper and
female products are a welcomed sight in the remote
areas
There was a little fun involved with the
adventure!
Notes
to family members were appreciated as well as the
supplies!
It
ended up being a hot day
Jose
was really happy to get some fresh water. Jose is
a Rancher and helped us build our place in San Somewhere
seven years ago
Hey...even
Paul came along! This was an eye opening adventure
for him...he was so tired when he got back in the
evening.
It
was nice to get in the shade
They
were all happy to see the guys for sure
Good
thing it was in a plastic bag!
Collected
fence posts are a big deal...they were everywhere.
The
supplies were very much appreciated. These folks
are pretty hardy people and use to the hard living
conditions of the area....
...but
as they told the guys who came and delivered all
the supplies; they really do appreciate the items.
More than that, they appreciated the fact that
they came and that someone cared about them, their
families and just the effort that so many folks
showed up. "Help" was as much a gift, as the gift
themselves.

So
life goes on here and in San Somewhere you would
never know the town was part of the
worst storm to come though Baja that anyone can
recall
The
Weather Station is fully functional...a little
worn, but working. Who needs 'FOX News Weather
Reports" when you can just drive by for current
conditions?
Life goes on here again.
Yep,
Antonio Camacho came by last night for a beer and
a quick shot of tequila..and as he has always
said, "just part of the show".
You
are so right, mi amigo!
So
the show does continue and the greening of the
whole area is taking place as you read this.
